There are 2 schools of thought on filter expiration.
The first says that filters have a shelf life. In fact, many filters have an expiration date printed on them. The shelf life is based on the filters remaining sealed in the package, the way they come.
Obviously, once opened the clock starts ticking & the life of them depends on what they are exposed to. You shouldn't plan on using one of these for training & expect it to work later.
The second says that as long as they remained sealed (in other words, not opened, tested, etc.), they can never expire due to the fact that the activated charcoal cannot absorb moisture.
You can research this on the internet, just as we have.
We are inclined to agree with the folks who believe that they can't expire if kept in the original package. We have these very filters in our 'emergency' kit.
These have a printed expiration of 12/13.
You need to make up your own mind & purchase, or don't purchase, based on your research, not ours.
